R I T I K A

"May I help you, Ritika?" Advik said as he looked at me struggling with the pins.

"Please." I cried as I was already exhausted with everything.

And in seconds, he was behind me, pulling the pins slowly. I stared at him through the vanity mirror; his hair was messy, his eyes tired yet focused on the work.

"Advi?"

"Ha?" He spoke, glancing at me.

"You know, when you cried, my heart ached, but something warm settled inside me. It's always girls leaving everything behind to start a new life with strangers and crying at the time of vidai, and most of the time, boys don't care- they just stand there, think of it as a drama or overreacting because it's not them who have to leave the house, it's us. They don't understand, but seeing you cry, my heart changed. You weren't supposed to cry; you were not leaving everything, but you felt my pain. " I whispered.

He looked directly at me and smiled, "Ritika- I already told you. It hurts to see you cry. It straight hit me. I don't know how much time it's been since we met, but you have become my home, my comfort. Seeing you like that hurt like hell."

My eyes turned glossy.

How can I be this lucky? how?

"Love, don't cry." He said as he kneeled infront of me and hugged my waist.

"I am feeling so lucky."

"And I am feeling blessed to have you as my wife." He spoke, looking up and cupping my face.

I smiled through my tears and leaned towards him and pecked his lips.

"And you know? About boys not caring? Well, I feel bad for their wives because Ritika, I don't know how they could not feel it, because everything you do affects me. "

"You are the best," I whispered while admiring him.

"For you, I wanna be."

I smiled. And with that, he started removing the pins from my hair.

I changed into comfy clothes and went to him, who was sitting on the bed, probably waiting for me.

"Finally, I am done. It was damn tiring." I said as I sat on the bed beside him.

"Come here." He replied as he opened his arms.

Smiling, I went close to him and wrapped my hands around his neck, while my legs engulfed his waist.

He settled me on his lap and hugged me tightly.

"You smell so good," he said while sniffing my neck.

"Yah, it's tickling." I laughed.

As I said those words, his hands moved down, and he started tickling my stomach.

"YAHH STOP IT!" I shouted while laughing.

"NO." He chuckled.

"STOP", I said as I hit him on his shoulder.

Who would have thought my first wedding would be like this? My husband, tickling me, and I  trying to get out of his strong grip.

"Yah, stop, they would think something else," I said without thinking much.

This caught his attention, and he stopped tickling me and asked while frowning, "What would they think?"

I cleared my throat and replied, "Something else?"

"What else?" This time, a small smirk curled up in the corner of his mouth.

"Advik, shut up."

"My wife is such a dirty-minded person."

"No, I am not." I showed my tongue.

"She is." He replied as he held me closer by my waist.

A silence fell, and his brown orbs met mine. Suddenly, something shifted in the room, and I was closer to him.

And his eyes fell to my lips.

Something shifted in my stomach.

In seconds, I felt his soft, plump lips on mine. Our mouths closed yet on each other's. My eyes closed on their own as I felt his lips moving on mine.

But desire burned inside me, I pinched him, which made him moan, and I slipped my tongue inside.

His taste flooded inside my mouth.

Mint. Sweet and warm like home.

Our lips moved against each other in a rhythm.

He pulled me closer to him and kissed me hard. Our tongues fighting for dominance, our hearts racing fast, and our uneven breaths settled in the room.

What a heaven it feels to be kissed by him.

I broke the kiss, breathing heavenly and opened my eyes to look at him. He was looking down with his lips a little parted, his eyes closed, and his breath uneven.

I touched his chest, making him look at me. He darted his gaze at me, and his heart raced under my palms.

"Ritika,, He whispered as his thumb touched my lower lip.

"I might faint. Because of you." He breathed, his eyes never leaving mine.

He kept touching my lower lip until I caught him in another kiss- this one slow and deep.

"You taste so sweet, Ritika, just like the sweetest fantasy." He whispered just above my lips.

I smiled.

How could I not feel for this guy? The guy who has made a place in my heart, not in a day but gradually, proving why he should be in my mind and heart.

The kind, sweet and hardworking man.

"Advik, I wanna sleep." I yawned.

"Come, baby." He said as he lay on the bed, while pulling me in his arms.

His hands wrapped around my waist while mine settled on his chest.

"Good night, husband," I muttered.

"Good night, wifey." He replied and pulled me closer in his warmth.
