"I know, but I wanted to." My eyes found his, and I was lost in those brown eyes. He didn't have to do any of these, but he was doing them. For me. A warm feeling settled inside me, my heart

"Thank you." This was all I could mutter.

"So, chale?"

(So, let's go?)

"Sukhna lake chale?"

(Can we go to Sukhna Lake?)

"Jha aap chaiye." He spoke as he looked at me with those eyes. His eyes are going to be the death of me. They hypnotize me. fuck.

(Wherever you want to.)

I smiled and said, "Chale fir?"

"Sure." He stood up, towering over me, and extending his hands. I smiled and interlocked my hand with his.
A shiver travels down my spine.
His big palms fitting perfectly with mine. He looked at me and passed me a smile that melted something inside me.

And with that, we went outside my apartment. The rain had softened, falling in a quiet rhythm. His bike stood there, gleaming slightly under the streetlight. He handed me the helmet, and I looked at him with a raised brow.

"To the lake?" he asked.

I smiled, slipping the helmet on. "To the lake."

He climbed on first, and I got on behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist.
The moment my hands touched him, something fluttered in my chest. I could feel my fastening, my head resting lightly as the world around us blurred into rain and wind.

The road was quiet, just the sound of raindrops tapping on the helmet, the soft hum of the engine, and our shared silence-comfortable, warm, real.

When we finally reached the lake stretched in front of us, glowing faintly in the rainy light. Everything felt still. Like time had slowed just for us.

"It's so beautiful." I muttered, the rain falling on us, drenching us.

"Yes, so beautiful." I looked at him and he was already staring at me.

Butterflies erupted inside me. His words, his eyes, his smile, they do something to me. Not only they but he. He does something to my heart.

"So, Can I dance with you Mrs. Bansal?" He said as he sat down on his knees, his hands extended to me.

My heart accelerated,"Oh god, this feels like a proposal." I laughed as I interlocked our hands.

"And yes you can dance with me Mr. Bansal." I said as i pulled him, making him stand.

"I am honoured." He smiled and pulled out the phone from his pocket, playing the song.

"Chehre mein tere
Khud ko mai dhoondu
Aankhon ke darmiyan
Tu ab hai iss tarah
Khwabon ko bhi jagah na mile...Ye mausam ki baarish
Ye baarish ka paani
Ye paani ki boondein
Tujhe hi toh dhoondein"

He looked at me with his those brown eyes and pulled me towards him, my body colliding with his, sending a shivers down my body.
And my heart throbbed. For him. For the stranger i know.

His hands resting on my waist, while my settled on his hard chest.
My breath raced at the proximity of us. He was near me, I could feel him, his hot breaths on my shoulder, his racing heart that synced with mine.
And the song that intensified the heat between us.

And our bodies moved together, the song played in the background. It felt like I was living my Bollywood romance life. The main character of my life. Of his life.
His eyes found mine and he spun me around, encircling his hands around my waist.
It all felt surreal. We were dancing not in anyone's wedding but on the road, soaked.
"I always wanted this." I whispered.

"Anything else you wished for?" He said as spun me around and now my front facing him, my eyes directly staring at his.

“Nothing for now,” I whispered, and my lips touched his cheeks.

His breath hitched, his body stilled as I lingered there, rubbing my cheek softly against his. The warmth of his skin spread through me, and when I finally pulled back, my own face burned. I turned toward the road, trying my best not to meet his eyes.

“Ritika, look at me,” he said, his voice low and raspy.
But my eyes stayed fixed ahead, embarrassment crawling up my spine.
Oh god, I just kissed him? What was I even thinking?

Before I could sink further into the thought, his hand caught my chin, gently turning me to face him. My breath hitched. His touch set my entire body on fire.

“Can you kiss me again?” he asked, something flickering in those brown eyes.

“Hundred times,” I murmured, and pressed my lips against his cheek once more.
His hands slid around my waist, pulling me closer. I was embarrassed- but not anymore. He wanted this. And I wanted him.

“It feels like my whole body is on fire,” he whispered.

I smiled softly, eyes locked on his. “Mine too.”

Before any of us could say anything, my phone buzzed. Removing myself from his warmth I pulled out my phone.
"It's ma." I muttered and frowned.

I picked up the call.
"Namaste, ma."

"Namaste beta. How are you?"

"I am good, ma.. what about you?"

"I am good too. Is by any chance advik is with you?"

"Hnji, he is here." I spoke glancing at him.

"Isn't your mother at village?" He asked under his breath.

"Yes, she is."

"By any chance she gets to know I am with you?"

"Idiot, it's your mother!" I spoke and he turned pale. His eyes widened.

"Oh fuck." He sighed as he rubbed his forehead.

"Achaa beta. I thought he was with dipu." Ma's voice irrupted our talk.

"Actually Ma, I was with dipu but when I was coming home, i found her." Advik ji spoke before i could.

"Acha beta, ghar aao. Dipu toh yhi hai." She said and i burst out laughing.

"Oh god, advik." I laughed hard at his situation.

"Ma, I am just coming home." He said and cut the phone.

"Apko jyada hassi ni aa rhi meri situation par?" He said as he pulled me towards him.

( Aren't you laughing too much at my situation?)

"Is that so?" I spoke as I poked on his white drenched shirt, which clearly showed his skin.

"Hmmm." He hummed and his hands circled around my waist pulling me closer. And soon his soft lips touched my cheeks.

And this time, I was flustered. My cheeks heated up, and butterflies flew inside my stomach.

"Already blushing, mrs. Bansal?"
He spoke as he kissed my cheeks one more time.

My heart raced and I had nothing to say. I was blushing because of his proximity. Because of him.

"Huh?"

He spoke, pulling me out of the daze.

"Chaliye, advik ji. Ghar ni jana kya?" I said quickly, trying my best to hide my blush.

(Let's go, you don't wanna go home?)

"Ghar Kai paas toh hi hu." He said, eyes glinting.

(I am at home.)

"What should I even do with you?" I said and smiled, giving him a peck on his left cheek.

"Ah, I love this. When you kiss me." He smiled.

And I couldn't help but smile back.
